How to Dress to Look Slimmer
You can dress to look slimmer by choosing the right styles and colors in your
clothing. One can easily look ten to twenty pounds lighter if you know the
secrets to looking slimmer in the fashions you choose.
There are certain
patterns in women's clothing that will never make you look slimmer, especially
horizontal stripes. Even the slimmest person will look unbalanced in outfits
with horizontal patterns and stripes. If you prefer clothing with patterns and
stripes, make sure they run vertically. Vertical lines will give the body a
taller and slimmer appearance. The illusion your clothing offers is key to
looking thinner. Also, avoid clothing with large patterns. For some strange
reason clothing designers create plus size fashions with large patterns. These
patterns are usually large flower blossoms and geometric shapes. They often look
cheap and tasteless. Even if you wear plus size clothing, never opt for these
unflattering fashions. If you like flowers and geometric shapes, look for
clothing with smaller designs. Large gaudy patterns just make you look
rediculous.
When dressing to look slimmer, choose arker colors. They are
naturally more slimming. Shop for outfits in darker shades. They hide unwanted
bumps and bulges, and darker shades usually make the wearer look considerably
thinner than lighter colored clothing would. Wear dark colors with vertical
patterns and stripes and you’ll be amazed at how slim you appear.
Never
wear clothing that’s extra large or very roomy. You might think you’re covering
up extra weight, but only look like you’re hiding under yards of material. Most
people don’t look as overweight as they think they do. Buy well-fitting clothing
and you’ll actually look smaller. Just don’t wear clothing so tight that you
look melted and poured in. Wearing clothes that are too tight is not attractive
either, if you are carrying a few extra pounds. This will only showcase your
problem areas.
If you carry extra weight in the tummy, do not tuck your
shirts in. Instead, choose blouses and tops that reach the center of the bulging
area and never tuck them in. This will hide the problem region effectively.
Tucking in a top only emphasizes the waistline.
In order to look slimmer,
do not wear blocks of color in your fashions. For example, if you wear a white
top, black pants, and white shoes, you are going to appear heavier. Only the
thinnest people can get away with wearing opposite colors from top to bottom.
Choose colors that coordinate well together but aren’t so drastically
different.
You can look your very best if you choose the clothes that
naturally compliment your appearance by making you look slimmer.
