Applying Foundation Makeup For Teens
Applying foundation and concealer to your face can help to cover up pimples and other blemishes for you as a teenager. It also can help to smooth out uneven skin tones. Not everyone needs to wear foundation makeup or concealer. You may choose to just wear a little concealer now and then to cover up a pimple (the best way to do that is to take a concealer stick, run a brush over it, dip the brush in powder, and apply). Other teens prefer to wear a full face of foundation, which creates a uniform look and also helps makeup stay put (like on the eyelids).
If your a teenager and do decide to wear foundation makeup, it is important to
select a shade that exactly matches your skin tone. If you prefer a liquid
foundation, dot it onto your face and then blend all over with a clean cosmetic
sponge. Make sure to blend carefully at the jawline. You can also get
combination foundation/powder, which covers like foundation but feels like
powder. These usually come in makeup compacts and are applied with
sponges.
Translucent face powder sets your foundation makeup. After
applying concealer, foundation, blush, and eye makeup, but before you put on
mascara and lipstick, brush loose powder with a full, soft brush over your
entire face, or you can use pressed powder and a powder puff. Many teens reapply
powder throughout the day to avoid shine. However, too many layers of face
powder can make you look too made up. Try instead using oil blotter papers to
absorb the oils.
